NSR prides itself on discovering new talent. This is the reason that the label was set up in 2008 and that same ethos still applies today!
What we want:
As of October 2011, NSR has turned a page and is beginning a whole new chapter in music. We are now branching out into all genres of EDM and as such we want your submissions! We are looking at anything that would fall into the category of UK hardcore, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Moonbahton, Electro, Gabber, Breakbeat hardcore, House and Trance. We want people who are dedicated and who take music seriously. We always prefer to take on artists who show a long term commitment to NSR (although we would never ask you to be exclusive to us, unless you wanted to be). Basically we want you to be proud to say you are signed to NSR. If an artist is shouting about their music and their label then that is half the battle won. We would prefer to secure an artist for a few releases rather than a one off, as we can then work out a long term plan for you.
What we can offer you:
With digital labels popping up every 5 minutes its hard to know who is serious and who is just trying to squeeze a bit of money out of your music without really caring about your progression or success. Whilst there is an abundance of labels, its important to pick the best one for you and one that wont mess you about. There is also alot of artists out there, and its important that we get the best ones for us, so with that in mind we like to offer more than your average digi-label to makesure we can secure the best talent. So apart from earning you royalties….what else can we offer?
- The NSR artist roster is always growing, if artists agree, we are more than happy and encourage you to be in contact with eachother. This means you can collab with other artists signed to NSR and maybe even leanr something new. As we cover a wide range of genres, the opportunity to collab on a different genre is a real possibility.
- This also means we are able to organise remixes of your track in either the same EDM genre as yourself or another one! If you are a house producer but want your track remixed by a dubstep artist….we can sort that out and workout the royalty scheme between yourself and the remixing artist.
- We provide you with a 100% accurate and up to date spreadsheet on sales on your releases on request so you can see exactly where your tracks have sold, how many and how much you have earned.
- We will also work with other labels on your behalf. For example, if there is a track signed to another label that you wish to remix, we will contact that label on your behalf and try to arrange this. We have done this one a few occasions in the past and the NSR artist has seen their remix released on another label.
- We will send your tracks to big name DJs within the relevant scene aswell as to radio DJs. NSR has already had 2 tracks played on BBC Radio 1 in the past and expects that number to grow.
- Inclusion on CD albums. As you can see from our store page, we have released CD albums in the past. This is something we are keen to continue with across all genres! We have also had tracks on albums that have been sold in stores such as HMV and as such will aim to license your music to other labels who are putting together albums.
- Access to vocalists. We can organise vocalists for you to work with if you are struggling to find them for your music. We will sort out any royalty payment etc for the vocalist.
- We are also looking to invest in our core artists in the future and should the music style be right we will look to register the track with the Official Charts Company and get itunes/amazon etc release for the track and push for chart position. This is only available to artists who are willing to commit long term to NSR as this takes a lot of money and alot of time and is a big risk on our part. However if the style of music is right and a good enough fanbase can be built, this is a risk we are willing to take with the right people.
