NSR Records is an electronic dance music record label and was formed in 2008 by Audioshift with the idea that there was far too many talented producers being ignored by record labels. It was and still is our mission to give these artists a platform from which to show the world their music. We specialise in UK hardcore, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Electro, Trance and anything else that falls under the EDM umbrella.
We released a CD album in 2009 just 1 year after forming as a label. This was done to set us apart from other labels and to showcase the talent that the label had to offer. ‘NSR: Hardcore Explosion’ was released and to this day is still selling copies worldwide! Here at NSR we learnt alot because of that CD album and also made some great contacts and friends which still stand today.
2010 saw the release of our 2nd album, ‘NSR2: Hardcore Invasion’, this was a double disc offering and featured NSR tracks aswell as tracks licensed from some of the biggest UK hardcore labels and artists around! The album even saw a nomination for ‘Best CD Compilation’ at the 2010 Hardcore Heaven awards alongside compilations from major labels such as AATW!
2011 saw the third NSR album hit the shelves. ‘NSR Presents: Future Hardcore’ is our fastest selling album to date and as things stand there are just a handful of copies left. The album followed the suit of the previous 2 albums, seeing sales in countries as far as USA, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Japan, Spain, Russia and many more! ‘NSR Presents: Future Hardcore’ contains totally NSR material and is musically the best the label has ever sounded in the UK Hardcore and Breakbeat genre.
Other NSR achievements include BBC Radio 1 airplay on 2 occasions, DJ support from various DJs all over the world such as Brisk & Fracus, Kutski, Jamie Ritmen, Thumpa, Darwin and more! We have had tracks appear on 3rd party compilations such as Hardcore Underground 5, Future Generation of Hardcore, Crush on Hardcore and 100% Hardcore. Our artists have had DJ bookings all over the country and up until recently we had a weekly slot on KraftyRadio.
The future of NSR, like our past, promises even more achievements but in even more genres. We have a strong passion for all genres of EDM and as such, NSR’s artist roster and release schedule will reflect this. There are hundreds of labels in each genre, but as we can see, there are very few that specialise in more than 2 or 3 genres. This is a big challenge for NSR to step into, but with the dedication we have shown and lessons learned over the last few years, we are confident that this will be a success.
